I've just spent the entire morning eagerly pouring through
images from the 2009 Costume Institute Gala at the MET in NY,
and I have to say, i'm not too sure what's going
on in the world of fashion right now.
There were some AMAAAAAZING looking women
on the red carpet, some of whom looked phenomenal,
and then some just looked, well, tragic.
SERIOUSLY, half of these girls looked like they'd
wandered off the set of Dynasty!
The shocking neon metallics and big hair are just foul.
There were a couple of gems, though.
Along with the girls up the top,

Marion Cotillard in Dior
Gisele Bundchen in Versace
Karolina Kurkova in Richard Chai
Diane Kruger & Josh Jackson in Chanel

Madonna in Louis Vuitton,
Leighton Meester & Rhianna in ?
This year's event was SO disappointing.
But I think that had more to do with some
of the last S/S shows being so overly influenced by the 80s!
It also didn't help that some went a bit overboard with
the accessories *cough* Madonna.
That LV dress would be gorgeous on its own
with a little pair of heels
- but, then again, probably not on Madonna.
