vogue meets DAVID DOWNTON

Add Image
Vogue Australia September 2009 Cate Blanchett by David Downton

I'm practically hyperventilating with excitement right now.

When I heard the news that Vogue Australia's September issue
(which co-incidently is also their 50th anniversary issue)
featured the work of AMAZING fashion illustrator,
David Downton, on not one but FOUR covers -
I got pretty excited.

When I actually SAW them this morning I nearly died.
They are so utterly, completely gorgeous;
featuring the stunning stunning stunning
Cate Blanchett.
I can't wait to see which copy the postman drops in
my letterbox, but regardless i'll be seeking
all 4 of the covers like gold.

As an illustrator myself, the fact that the powers that be at
Vogue Australia have been bold enough to use pure illustration
for such an important cover is inspirational beyond words.
I'm a little bit in love with them right now.
If I had a hat on - I'd doff it.
August 5th will be a very special day in the
fashion illustration world.

Resenha sete sensorial

Meninas,
hoje vou comentar um pouco sobre esta máscara facial de hortelã da Sete Sensorial.
Ah,quero agradecer novamente quem me deu esta amostra que foi minha amiga super d+ Denise do blog
http://pompomcorderosa.blogspot.com/.
beijinhos,

Thanks to the wonderful Torie Jayne, I now know about the gorgeous brand Noa Noa. Now if only Noa Noa had stores in the US, I would be quite happy indeed.

My apologies for the plethora of photos, but they were all so stunning that I had the darnedest time choosing. And of course, I had to post all the pics with pugs, Wellie wouldn't have it any other way.

Anyone else feel the need to sport a head scarf this autumn? I know I do.

Happy Friday!

Pay it Forward and a New Blog Award

Pay-it-Forward-animated-gif

Bow teeny

Today is a special day, today I get to Pay it Forward. The ever lovely Koralee, of Blue Bird Notes, is making me a treasure and now I get to do the same for five of my charming readers.

I will send the first five people who comment on this post, saying they want to pay it forward, a little treasure. It will be made with love, and it will be just for you by me.

I am willing to send my package overseas (I am in the U.S.), but remember, you must commit on your blog to do the same for 5 others.
  • I make no guarantees that you will like what I send you. But you may be pleasantly surprised. It could be a lovely handmade hair bow, a special shrink art pin, a one of kind drawing, a mixed cd, or maybe all of the above.
  • What I send will be just for you, with love, by my own hands.
  • I will complete all 5 gifts this year - 2009.
  • I will not give you any clue what it is going to be, it will be something made in this world, something that you can touch and feel, and not something cyber.
  • In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post.
  • Please leave me your email so I can contact you and get your mailing address.
Everyone is welcome and it doesn't matter what you hand craft. I guarantee that you will receive something from me providing you do the same for 5 other people in your blog post.

So, are you willing to Pay it Forward?

***Update: Two Spots Left!
So far, Jamilah, Hanna and MJ will be receiving lovely gifts from me!

In other happy news, I was given the Lemonade Stand award from the always delightful Nicola, of Nicola Ticola Ponders.

For every blog award I receive, I try to choose different bloggers. This time I'm passing the award along to new bloggers that I've recently met. Discovering a new blog, is like discovering a whole new magical world. It's wonderful.

P.S. My apologies for the silly drawing. With the help of Katrina and Cole, I've just figured out how to make an animated gif and I couldn't resist. :)

MY FAIR LADY

Publication: Numéro #105 August 2009 / Title: Mayfair Lady / Photographer: Miles Aldridge / Model: Hanne Gaby Odiele / {Photo Source: TFS}
I'm in Marchampt, Beaujolais at the moment, and the weather is absolutely gorgeous, but these stunning images of Hanne are making me miss London a little bit.. Thank you for all of the lovely comments my posts have been receiving recently. I definitely want to do more on my own clothes and purchases in the future, (like the fur cardigan one below) but I need to find a wonderful new camera - any suggestions let me know! x

What They Wore Today: 07.29.09- J.Crew is Hard to Resist

WIWT: LTW JCrew

Oh, J.Crew. Why do you insist on torturing me with your loveliness? Every month, I try to resist your eye catching catalogs and every month, I fail. The fall is always the hardest; your modern preppy styles just scream back-to-school. And no matter that I've been out of school for over six years, I still feel that autumnal pull to stock my wardrobe.

What I Wore Today: 07.28.09- Mad Men Glasses

Oliver Peoples Deacon Glasses

I need your lovely opinion...What do you think of my these Oliver Peoples Deacon glasses? I want slightly big and slightly ridiculous specs, but I'm not sure if they are right for me. The opticians were nice enough to let me take them home for a test drive. The more I wear them the more I like them. But I would still like your input.

So don't be shy, and tell me what you think!

Mad Men character

If I were a Mad Men character, this is what I would look like. Thanks to The Renegade Bean, I was able to test out the fun interactive game, Mad Men Yourself! The hair bow and donut are what make it so me.
