You Asked, I Answered

Do you have a signature scent? And what about a signature shade of lipstick? My signature scent is Burberry The Beat. My signature lipstick is Revlon, Really Red.

There are so many things I wanna ask, maybe you could answer the questions that you pose to your blogger of the week...actually I'd love to know your answers:)

    What’s your Age and Location?
    28, Michigan

What inspired you to start blogging?
I first started blogging in Nov. 2008 to show my finished sketches and portraits. I was posting probably a few times a month, if that. In May, I really started to get into fashion blogging and after that I started posting everyday.

What’s one tip you’d like to share with other bloggers?
Post as frequently as you can and comment a lot. It's amazing the friendships you'll make when you put yourself out there and join the community.

What’s your favorite song of the moment?
Like everyone usually says, mine changes so often. Right now it's Strange and Beautiful by Aqualung from the Wicker Park soundtrack.

What are you most looking forward to wearing this winter?

All my winter coats and vintage furs. If I could wear a coat as a dress, without sweating indoors, I would!

What is it about a blog that you like, and what do you hate? Like, what makes you keep reading?
I love blogs that are artistic and creative. That have a personal touch and relatability. I love blogs that post outfit photos of the blogger. I also like bloggers that focus more on themselves and less on celebrities and the runways. Although I adore runway fashion and gorgeous magazine shoots, I'm more interested in what the blogger's wearing than some model or celebrity.

How much time per week do you devote to blogging, including photo shoots, writing, prep, etc. Do you have an *editorial calendar* of topics prepared? Oh, I spend more time than what's probably healthy blogging. I always seem to do things at a snail's pace, so it probably takes me much longer than what's normal. It's pretty much a job to me, so I would say I spend about 30 hours a week blogging. This includes commenting on other blogs, research, taking photos, editing photos, writing, etc. I do have an editorial calendar. I realized after a few months that there were specific things I wanted to blog about so I made myself lay it out. Monday- photo shoot; Tuesday- DIY; Wednesday- used to be free, but now photo shoot; Thursday- Blogger of the Week; Friday- music; Saturday- artist; and Sunday- free. I don't always stick to my calendar, but it helps keep me organized and knowing what I should be prepping for.

What do you work as? What do you do for a living?
As mentioned above, I have pretty much made blogging my job. But that doesn't mean I'm making a living off of it. I would classify myself as a starving drawer/blogger.

    Did you go to university?
I did. I went to Michigan State University and have a Bachelors of Science in Merchandising Management.

What was your wedding dress like? (Can we see pics?)
My wedding dress was pretty simple and classic. I had planned on designing my dress myself and modeling it after the dress Audrey Hepburn wore in Funny Face, but we had a winter wedding and when it came down to it, I was just too stressed to do it. I did however design my sisters maid of honor dress. But if Cole and I were getting married now, instead of almost seven years ago, I would so design it.

Do you ever just wear a really boring outfit when you can't be bothered, or are you always as stylish as in your pics??
Ha! Yes, I wear lots of boring outfits! On a normal day I'll be wearing my skinny jeans or leggings and a sweater. To keep it from being too boring, I'll normally wear a pair of riding boots.

Where is your favorite place in the world and why?
Oh, tough question, but it would have to be my parent's cottage. It's on such a gorgeous lake, and it's so peaceful and cozy up there.

    up north

Could we see a picture of the love of your life?
I have actually posted many pictures of Cole, but here's my favorite:

    Cole

Would you move to another city / state or are you just happy in the state of Michigan?
After living five years in the Boston area, I'm so happy to back in my home state. I wouldn't mind moving around some more in the future, but I could also be happy living here for the rest of my life.

Have you ever been to Europe? If so, which countries?
I've been to the UK and Ireland and that's it. I really want to see all of Europe. Maybe when Cole is done with grad school.

    How tall are you?
I am apparently the average height of women, otherwise known as 5'4.5". I usually round up and say I'm 5'5''.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I had to go count...47! Wow, is that a lot? It seems like a lot. Yet, I probably wear less than half regularly.

I need help with the book I'm 'trying' to write. I want to stay clear from vampires. So, I love wings: birds, angels, etc. I definitely want to incorporate that. But I'm having trouble with creating an enemy. I was thinking about having 'black-winged' angels as enemies. I don't want demons. But now I'm thinking of having vampires. I don't know. please help!!! Thanks a bunch.
Oooh, I think a dark angel or fallen angel would make a very cool villain.

What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?
Read, read and read. Mostly fun chick lit books. I'm not very deep. ;)

Do you use any lip liner-if so what color do u use?
    I do, it's a deep red color.

    What is your favorite meal?
Oh, this is the hardest question ever! I love food and could eat until I explode. But if I had to choose a favorite meal it would have to be: Appetizer- guacamole and tortilla chips; Dinner- beef and black bean tacos; Dessert- fried ice cream.

    What is your favorite magazine?
My favorite fashion magazine in Lula. My favorite non fashion mag is Country Living.

What do you want to be when you grow up? : )
    Happy and content.

How did you and Cole meet? How did you meet your husband?
Cole and I met first semester of our freshman year in college. A guy who lived in my dorm went to high school with Cole and took me to a party in Cole's dorm room and that's how we met. A month later, we were engaged. Three years later, we married. That was all ten years ago. So crazy.

    What is your favorite food?
As you might have noticed from my favorite meal question, I'm obsessed with Mexican food. Obsessed. Always have been and probably always will be.

What place do you call home?
Wherever Cole is. But Michigan will always feel like home to me.

I love your name, is there a history behind it (like why your parents picked it)?
My parents had no idea what to name me. While I was in the hospital, after I had just been born, I had a few different names...Annie...Emily...and finally, Maria. When I asked my mom why Maria, she said she just always thought it was beautiful.

As for my blog name, the Lulu is short for Eloise (named after the book character) and the Letty is short for Letitia (named after Cole's grandmother). Eloise Letitia will be my future daughter's name.

How do you edit your photos so they have that cool antique-y look?
I do all my photo editing in Picnick. To make the black edges, I use the vignette effect and then the rounded corners frame.

Tell us how to tie the most perfect beautiful hair bow!
Here's the first tutorial that I ever used. From there, I just improvised.

    Bow teeny

Thank you so much for all the wonderful questions!!! I hope you've enjoyed my answers.
