Another menswear (or rather boyswear) inspired post, or what I refer to as "everyday Maria!" I own several pieces of clothing from Brooks Brothers' boys department. When I was working in finance a few years ago, I loved to shop in the boys section at BB for lots of items like shirts, sweaters and jackets. I used to confound the sales staff. ;)

We took these photos on Saturday at sunset, which was lucky considering that it down poured all day yesterday. We randomly found this boardwalk, which is hidden off a main road and is really quite beautiful. While Cole was coming back from exploring the rest of the boardwalk, I sneakily snapped a candid shot!

So I know Christmas is SUPPOSED to be all about GIVING gifts
(well ACTUALLY I guess it's supposed to be about Jesus, but hey)
but I couldn't help treating myself to a bit of an early Christmas present.
From me to me!


Most of you should be familiar with Kelly Thompson's work as I bang on
about it quite a bit, and we also had a show together earlier in the year.
These two pieces that she created recently for a show just blow me away.
Love love love them!


The first girl is currently getting ready for a lengthy stint
on the wall of my house, just making it look generally pretty.

How was everyone's weekend?

Well, I didn't go to my reunion. When it came down to it, I just really didn't feel like going. Instead, Cole and I had a lovely bonfire where we roasted hot dogs and drank beer. It was quite fun.

Saturdays with Gaspard Ulliel

While there is no denying that Gaspard is gorgeous, what I really love is his amazing laid back French style. There is something wonderful about the way he wears a classic white shirt.

And yes, before Robert was cast, I so wanted Gaspard to play Edward. But that was three years ago and I think Robert is perfect.
